Beautiful 1/7 scale model of the Globe GC-1B Swift, designed by Dennis Sumner. Our short kit includes laser-cut balsa and plywood parts, a huge vacuum-formed canopy, and full-size printed plans.

The Swift design was born at Fort Worth, Texas, in 1940, but production of the all-metal Swift was delayed by World War II until 1946. Produced originally by Globe Aircraft Company, and later by TEMCO, more than 1,100 Swift aircraft were built between 1946 and 1951. TEMCO also built a modified version known as the T-35 Buckaroo to compete for service as a trainer with the US Air Force. Several T-35s were sold to Greece and Saudi Arabia.

For more history of the Swift, check out the Swift Museum Foundation website.
