The Douglas TBD-1 Devastator torpedo bomber is best known for its valiant but disastrous attacks on the Japanese fleet at the Battle of Midway. Although it was already obsolete and outclassed by 1940, the TBD did yeoman service in the early days of WWII in the Pacific at the Battle of the Coral Sea.
Our 1:10 scale Devastator short kit was designed by Paul Kohlmann and is featured as a construction series beginning with the October 2019 edition of Model Aviation magazine. The short kit features laser-cut balsa and plywood parts, plus a huge vacuum-formed clear plastic canopy. Plans are available as a free download from Model Aviation magazine, or you can add them as an option to your short kit.
